Lodge Of Agriculture’s Sporting Community Relationship With Yatton RFC

Yatton Rugby Football Club was formed in 1968, since when a goodly number of players, past and present, have been Freemasons of Yatton’s Lodge of Agriculture.
This relationship continues to this day, even stronger than before, with regular sponsorship being provided by the Lodge in support of this thriving community sports club, where players of all ages are coached and encouraged to be the best that they can be whilst enjoying the sport of rugby.
Somerset’s Masonic logo can be seen displayed on the 1st Team Sheet and, twice a season, prior to 1st Team home match kick-offs, the Lodge sponsors the pre-match lunch at the rugby club, attended by club members and supporters from the local community whereby the club’s link with the Lodge is highlighted.
The members of Yatton RFC’s Junior & Mini Sections recently received three new tackle-tubes, essential for the coaching of their playing skills, courtesy of a further £550 of generous support from the Brethren of the Lodge of Agriculture.
The tackle-tubes were formally presented to the junior section of the club on 28th January, at Yatton Masonic Hall, after which the youngsters, their parents and coaches were treated to a guided tour of the Lodge Room, presented by Lodge members, Brian Reynolds and Mark Harding, after which Steve Collings explained how Freemasonry is an integral provider of support, serving local communities right across Somerset, the rest of the UK and beyond.
