The Lodge takes its name from the Roman deity associated with woodlands and, by extension, one of the gods of the hunt. It was founded to bring together individuals with a shared passion for traditional country pursuits, including hunting, shooting, fishing, and equestrian activities — even the occasional mishap in the saddle is welcomed in good humour.
As a dining lodge, it places a strong emphasis on camaraderie and convivial gatherings, with a particular focus on celebrating and supporting British farming. Membership is open to Freemasons who are either actively involved in or supportive of rural and countryside traditions.
True to its roots, the Lodge proudly serves British game and produce at its dinners, with ingredients typically sourced from farms across the West Country — ensuring that every meeting is not only meaningful but also memorable for its fine dining and rural fellowship.
